Jill Stein to address the Advocates for a Sustainable Albemarle Population

The Advocates for a Sustainable Albemarle Population will host a meeting with Dr. Jill Stein, Green Party candidate for U.S. president. The meeting begins at 7 p.m. in Room A of the Albemarle County Fifth Street Office Building.

Dr. Stein is a physician and longtime advocate of a "Green New Deal"; greatly enhanced housing security and affordability; "Complete Streets" transportation plans that fully integrate pedestrians, cycling , and mass transit; enhanced "Medicare for All"; and progressive tax reform. Nominated as the Green Party presidential candidate in 2012 at the national convention in Baltimore, Stein received nearly half-a-million votes in the 2012 election, the most ever received by any female nominee for the U.S. presidency.

ASAP's hosting of Dr. Stein's visit to Charlottesville is not an endorsement of her candidacy, but an expression of our eagerness to welcome such an important American political leader to our community and to hear her views on a number of topics of great significance to all citizens of the Greater Charlottesville region.
