Job Announcement for Assistant Field Director

The Jill Stein for President campaign (Green Party) is seeking an Assistant Field Director (AFD) to support a groundbreaking 2016 political campaign.  This is a full time position with location of work to most likely be based in Austin or NYC.

This AFD will work with the campaign's Field Director (FD) to ensure that field activities are succeeding. This includes helping to plan and manage the campaign's and candidate's field operations  to ensure maximum physical turnout, media exposure, specific political results and fundraising potential.

This will include: assistance with all event logistics (including booking travel, securing lodging, etc); direct logistics and political coordination with local event organizers and other local political players; direct coordination with the campaign's field, media, fundraising and volunteer teams; providing all necessary after-event follow up.

The AFD will also serve as Field team liaison with the campaign's Ballot Access Team, and work directly with the FD and national Volunteer Coordinator to support campaign organizing at the state and local levels, as well as to assist with Get Out the Vote efforts.

Qualifications/Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have:

•  Solid  field organizing, community organizing, and event management and coordination experience..

• Ability to work well with volunteers, and state Green Parties.

• Strong oral and written communication skills.

• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and monitor progress toward deadlines.

• Enthusiasm about building an alternative progressive political force in the United States.

Posting No. 1604: Youth Coordinator Director

Youth Coordinator Job Announcement

The Jill Stein for President (Green Party) campaign is seeking a full-time Youth Coordinator to support our groundbreaking 2016 political campaign. The Youth Coordinator will need strong interpersonal skills, patience, persistence, enthusiasm, the ability to work with all kinds of people and to keep up in a fast-moving campaign.  

Primary Responsibilities: The Youth Coordinator will oversee outreach to students and other young voters. The Youth Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating the efforts of young volunteers, utilizing their skills and talents, and providing motivation. The Youth Coordinator will have primary leadership responsibility for the campaign's Young Greens Rising (YGR) initiative. 

Tasks will include, but not be limited to:

- establishing YGR chapters on college campuses
- inspiring and activating young people as volunteers, donors and leaders
- ensuring the campaign message reaches young voters through a combination of social media and on-the-ground organizing
- coordinating and supporting regional Youth Organizers, as hired by the campaign

The Jill Stein for President (Green Party) campaign is seeking a Campaign Assistant to support a groundbreaking 2016 political campaign.  This is a part-time contract position based in NYC, possible increase to full-time. The Campaign Assistant will need strong interpersonal skills, patience, persistence, enthusiasm, the ability to work with all kinds of people and to keep up in a fast-moving campaign.

Primary Responsibilities:

The Campaign Assistant will provide direct administrative and organizational support to the Campaign Manager and Executive Team as directed. The Campaign Assistant will be responsible for making sure the Campaign Manager is able to do his/her job. 

 

Tasks will include, but not be limited to:

 -support of Core Team telecons, including scheduling times and taking minutes during telecons

-handling campaign correspondence as requested by the candidate or Campaign Manage

-making inquiries via telephone and email to gather information, conduct surveys, confirm commitments, and determine the status of assigned tasks.

-extracting data from campaign databases to answer questions or provide assistance to campaign staff

-other defined tasks that may be assigned by the Campaign Managers to support the executive functions of the campaign.

Posting No. 1606 Volunteer Coordinator

Job Announcement for Volunteer Coordinator 

 The Jill Stein for President campaign is seeking a National Volunteer Director who will work closely with key campaign staff to identify, recruit, train and manage volunteers to help with various campaign activities. Ms. Stein is the likely nominee of the Green Party.

The Volunteer Director will be responsible for coordinating the work of volunteers, utilizing their skills and talents well and providing motivation. The job requires strong interpersonal skills, patience, persistence, enthusiasm, good communication skills and the ability to work with all kinds of people.

 Primary Responsibilities:  

The Volunteer Director will work closely with senior staff to develop a list of volunteer tasks that need to be filled both internally as well as develop volunteer tasks and training materials for volunteers seeking to build the Stein / Green Party campaign in their local communities.

 Tasks will include, but not be limited to: 

-recruit and train Volunteer Coordinators in the various states, both for general volunteer coordination and for specific projects such as ballot access

-work with state Green Parties to maximize communication and cooperation between state parties and Volunteer Coordinators

-check in regularly with local / state Volunteer Coordinators to ensure they are able to fulfill their duties

-assist campaign staff in identifying volunteers for specific tasks, including site-specific tasks
 -follow up with people who apply for volunteer positions, train and manage them as needed

-reach out regularly to volunteers to solicit help for priority volunteer projects

-work with campaign team and advisors to create a plan and toolkit to engage volunteers interested in local organizing

-develop and distribute materials for volunteer training

-at least two years of political campaign or nonprofit management experience

Posting No. 1607: Press Director

 

Press Director Job Announcement


The Jill Stein for President (Green Party) is seeking a press director to assist with overall communication strategy and coordination for the campaign. There is already a communications director in charge of social media. The Press Director (PD) will be responsible for contacts with print reporters as well as cable, radio and television. The PD will be responsible for the writing and circulation of news releases. The PD will work closely with campaign staff to develop and implement a comprehensive message platform for the campaign through local and national media outlets.

Priority consideration will be given to applicants with prior national campaign experience. All applicants should have some background in communications and/or public relations tied to the political process. 

 Duties

 1. Serve as key spokesperson when communicating with the media

2. Initiate contact with key reporters, television / radio schedulers, columnists, editorial boards and other key media contacts. Maintain relationships with reporters covering the Presidential campaign. Set up interviews and media opportunities.
3. Assist in develop and implementing campaign messages.
4. Coordinate the writing and issuance of news releases. Coordinate such releases with the campaign’s social media team.
5. Recruit policy advisors and other volunteers to assist with development of press releases.
6. Provide input on and assistance with all aspects of the campaign’s media operations, including candidates’ speeches.
7. Assist with development of video and campaign ads.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years professional experience with the media, hopefully at the national level.
  • Excellent communicator (written and oral)
  • Proficient in various social media platforms
  • Able to work under pressure with tight deadlines
  • Multi-tasker

 The Jill Stein for President campaign is seeking a talented Graphic Designer to support a groundbreaking 2016 political campaign. This is a part-time contract position with location of work to be determined in consultation with the applicant. The Graphic Designer will need the ability to work with all kinds of people and to meet deadlines in a fast-moving campaign.

 Primary Responsibilities:

 The Graphic Designer will provide graphic support to our Fundraising, Communications and Field campaign staff, as directed. The Graphic Designer will be responsible for ensuring a consistent professional look across different media platforms. Experience in both digital and print design preferred.

 Tasks will include, but not be limited to:

 - designing campaign newsletter templates which activate supporters
- designing memes & Facebook ads that inspire supporters to share with their friends

- designing memes & Facebook ads that ask for money
- direct mail solicitation campaigns
- working with outside graphic designers or videographers, if any, to ensure the overall look and feel of the JSP campaign is consistent
- designing a more robust giving process on the website
-designing multi-lingual outreach materials for volunteers on the ground
-designing banners, t-shirts, buttons, pins or other campaign merchandise, as needed

Posting 1609: Production Manager

JOB ANNOUNCEMENT FOR PRODUCTION MANAGER / DIGITAL PRODUCER / ADMINISTRATOR

The Jill Stein for President campaign is looking for a very detailed, hard-working person to produce a variety of written communications for direct mail and email/digital/social media fundraising.

Primary Responsibilities:

You will have a key role in the overall success of fundraising. You will be briefed on all goals and all methods.

You will be maintaining the production and launch schedule for all print and digital fundraising.

You will be dropping copy into email and other digital templates, sending test versions for approval, scheduling mailing dates, and making sure each campaign is tagged properly for easy tracking of results.

You will also be setting up tagged donor landing pages. We use NationBuilder. Candidates who have demonstrated in-depth knowledge of NationBuilder given preference.

You will also be segmenting lists and supressing donors for export into new targeted lists. You will also be actively engaged in importing new email lists for testing. You will be responsible for list hygiene.

You will be costing out various online marketing efforts, i.e. FaceBook ads, etc.

You'll also help produce direct mail fundraising appeals. Attention to detail and good proofing skills are very important. You will be working directly with print and other vendors with the help of the Fundraising Director. You must enjoy making and taking phone calls and meeting or beating deadlines.

This position will help you develop a broad, deep portfolio of digital and print work in a few intense months. A great opportunity for someone who wants to break into production or email/digital marketing.

Qualifications/Requirements-

Candidates with prior experience in traffic/production for an agency or in-house creative or other department that maintains a heavy daily workflow with daily deadlines that must be met will be given preference.

Extra points if you know NationBuilder.

Ability to handle multiple projects and turn on a dime if priorities change.

Job Announcement for Campaign Finance Assistant

The Jill Stein for President campaign is seeking a Campaign Finance Assistant to support a groundbreaking 2016 political campaign. This is a full time position based in Madison, WI.

The Finance Assistant will work with the Campaign’s Director of Compliance to assist with core financial operations, such as donation intake, management of donation records, assistance with disbursements, and other financial operations as needed.

The Finance Assistant will also provide backup for our event logistics by helping to book travel arrangements and handle other logistics in order to ensure effective field success.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Characteristics of the ideal candidate include:

  • Self-driven and detail-oriented
  • Mastery of Microsoft Excel and proficiency with Quickbooks software
  • Experience working in a fast-paced nonprofit or campaign environment
  • Able to shift between several different priorities with tight deadlines
  • Willing to learn new skills and study campaign finance laws (including Primary Matching Funds)
